Google Loves Wordpress: How to Use Wordpress.com for SEO and Internet Marketing

Google loves Wordpress.com

This is a case study one of the top social sites to post to, Wordpress.com. Correct use of this site will help raise your search engine page ranking much higher than a lot of other social linking and social information web sites.

Google really seems to love wordpress.com. I don’t mean the blog you have at your web host or server, I mean the blogs hosted by wordpress at their site. If you create a blog with some good information in it, it will be listed very high in page ranking.

Here’s a real world example. For Reno Modern Luxury Homes, a wordpress.com site was created as well with a blog title of Reno Luxury Modern Homes. A post named Reno Modern Luxury Homes For Sale was created as well. The user name for the site is renohomes - It’s a good idea to have your user name contain keywords as well. If you do a search for Reno Modern Luxury Home, you’ll see that as I write this the top 2 spots are the wordpress.com tag pages for tags put on that blog. The 3rd and 4th links are the actual site.

If you do a search for Reno Modern Homes, you’ll see that the first spot is the actual site itself which is RenoModernHomes and the #2 position is the wordpress.com blog post Reno Modern Luxury Homes For Sale.

Tags are incredibly important as you can see from the first Search Engine Results Page (SERP). the first 2 listings are in fact tags that were created and put on the http://renohomes.wordpress.com blog. The fist google listing is for the tag reno-modern-luxury-home-for-sale and the second is for the tag reno-nevada. Variations on the searches prove fruitful as well. Reno Luxury Contemporary Homes brings a page 1 position 1 and 2 of the tags used! A search for Reno Luxury Homes brings a page 1 position 6 ranking. Adding a tag for the company Pavich and Associates brings a page 1 position 3 position in a google search, the first 2 are the Pavich and Associates company website. All of this with one blog and 1 post.

Ashland Oregon - Model of Sustainability

Ashland, Oregon is a breath of fresh air in the world of sustainability. The people here understand how precious the earth and its bounties are. Organic farms dot the landscape for miles around. There’s even an organic vodka that’s produced in Ashland. Now that the winter is almost upon us and the Farmer’s Market’s are done with I really feel like I wish I had a greenhouse or had a better setup for indoor growing.

The landscape of Southern Oregon is truly beautiful as you can see in these pictures by Sean Bagshaw, one of the most talented professional photographers in Ashland. It is the combination of beauty and sustainability that keeps me in awe of the beauty of this land.

Zen Cart Purchase Order System

I needed to convert a Zen Cart shopping cart into more of a wholesale purchasing order system. In addition to all the regular template and language changes I will usually make, to accomplish this I also used and changed a few modules.

Each product style has different colors and so I used the Product Attribute Grid mod which allows a shopper to enter the quantities of each attribute on the same page.

To add Net Terms as a Zen Cart payment option, I duplicated the Money order payment module.

Most Wholesale Purchase Order’s will also have a Ship Order date and a Ship Cancel Date which is the window of time that an order once placed will be accepted within. There was some coding done for this by Peter Martin that contained a Ship Order Date. I collected the changes he made and further added changes so that a Cancel Order Date was also included.

Joe Strummer

Joe Strummer was the most important musical icon of the punk generation. Everyone who followed the Clash knew it to be true and it was no mere boast that the Clash tag-line was “The Only Band that Matters”. There were other voices from the punk era that mattered, but none of them had the combination of sarcasm, sincerity, talent and optimism, the will to cause change as did Strummer. When the double album London Calling came out and the price was that of a single album, The Clash were the most important band at the time. When the three album set Sandanista came out and it too was issued at a reduced price, the Clash proved their integrity to their fans again.Seeing the Clash on Broadway night after night was one of the most amazing and lucky experiences I’ve ever had. The Clash had Reggae and Rappers open their shows and Joe castigated the audience for not giving their music a chance. The sincerity to expand people’s consciousness and to challenge their beliefs worked on a whole generation.

Things changed when Combat Rock was released. Strummer himself began to feel the dishonesty of the mega arena and many of his fans felt it too. The last “Clash” album released without Mick Jones was the nail in the coffin for the Clash. They knew it and so did their fans. Joe Strummer went low key and was not really heard from much other than through some film roles and soundtrack until 1999 when he formed Joe Strummer and the Mescalaros.

His version of Redemption Song is a landmark version and a great companion piece to the Bob Marley song.Yet another amazing song from Joe is the film version (Black hawk Down) of Minstrel Boy.
